Wendy Finkle
Wendy Finkle has been working in clay since 2004 and opened Clay Fish Studio in Lutz, Florida in 2019. She creates wheel thrown and slab built functional ceramics inspired by daily rituals, design, function and glaze chemistry. Wendy attended FSU and USF with a BS in Medical Technology/Microbiology and eventually merged her love of art and science with the nonprofit, Arts4All Florida, at USF Tampa, developing inclusive arts experiences for individuals of all ages living with disabilities. Wendy practices her craft full time now.
Wendy’s work is rooted in a deep respect for cultural traditions and historical techniques, drawing inspiration from ancient forms, contemporary design, and a personal love of cooking, hospitality, and creating a beautiful space to live in. Every piece she creates brings her deep satisfaction as she thinks about how it will bring beauty, function and grace to the lives of the end user.
Wendy’s growth and direction continue to be inspired by design, function, glazes and firing schedules from ancient antiquities dating back thousands of years.
