Bill Colby and Patti Kendall

Bill Colby and Patti Kendall have been full time potters for the past 45 years. Bill learned his trade at the College of the Redwoods in California. Bill and Patti now make their living showcasing their work at art festivals throughout the southeast, mostly in Florida. Their Red Clay Hawk Pottery studio is located in New Smyrna Beach, FL.

Bill’s work is primarily functional bowls and vessels, both large and small. He works with stoneware, which is high fired to cone 11 in a 60 cubic foot gas kiln.

Patti works both with slabs and the age-old technique of “Hand Thumbing” clay into a form.

Together, they make all of their work by hand, without the use of any employees, presses, or jiggers.
